About Larry Lambert
Meet Your Representative
Who is Larry?
Larry Lambert is a community leader and a proud lifelong resident of Claymont. His record of service has been recognized by Senator Joe Biden in front of the US Congress, on the Oprah Winfrey show, and in a News Journal feature detailing his volunteer work in our 7th District.
In a nine-year span of his youth, Larry lost his big brother and both of his parents. At 20, he took on the responsibility of raising his little sister who was a sophomore at Brandywine High School. It was difficult paying all of the bills, raising a teenager, and being the first Lambert to graduate from college. Larry persevered, to prove to his sister that “no matter what we go through, we never give up!”
Larry served as an art teacher for 8 years, and now has been employed in corporate banking for the last 9 years. Larry has actively worked to build bridges between Delaware’s corporate and nonprofit sectors and to bring resources into our communities such as hot meals, books, mentors, murals, financial literacy workshops, and an environmental justice conference.
Why I’m Running
I am running for re-election because I am passionate about helping my neighbors and our communities thrive. My leadership in our community, and the relationships I have developed with local political, economic, and educational leaders, will help our neighborhoods and families prosper.
My dad was a proud union member who worked at Delmarva Power for 27 years. He instilled in me blue-collar values of loyalty, justice, and looking out for your fellow man. As your State Representative, I will continue to fight for all workers by supporting local hire policies for publicly funded projects like large north Claymont construction projects.
I am not running for office, I’m running for you! Every year, our workloads and hours increase, but our wages do not. Now is the time to vote for your neighbor who is dedicated to improving your quality of life. You need leadership you know, leadership you can trust, and leadership that listens. A vote for me represents a vote for all of us!
